2024 Vin Gris

Vin Gris, French for “Grey Wine” is a traditional name for a white wine style produced using red grapes. Bottled extremely young, this wine is always our first indicator of the quality of a vintage and is meant to be enjoyed as fresh as possible. These wines cut to the core that wine is to be simply enjoyed and shared.

Tasting Notes
 A pale rose gold color producing aromas of cantaloupe and citrus blossoms.  Upfront, this wine shows a surprising blend of bright fresh berries and medium body softness. Light acidity keeps this dry rose clean and alive towards the finish, making a perfect companion for creamy dressed spring salads with or without your protein of choice.

Wine Story

Vineyard Notes
The 2024 Vin Gris is composed of 65% Pinot Noir from the Webster Vineyard, near the intersection of Vineyard Drive and Adelaida Drive in West Paso Robles. Secondly, Zinfandel from the Fossil Creek Vineyard makes up the other 35% of the blend
Winemaker Notes
The 2024 Vintage was a slow developing year, with long hang times for fruit. The increased time on the vine allows the skin tannins to more fully develop and soften, thus producing wines noted for richness and complexity, even at a young age.

Production Notes
Both the Pinot Noir and Zinfandel lots were picked early to emphasize fresh, bright character and immediately whole cluster pressed. The juice was allowed to cold settle for 24 hours then racked to neutral french barrels for fermentation. After completion of fermentation, all barrels were racked to single blend and returned to barrel for 3 months of aging.
