2023 Lily Blanc

50% Grenache Blanc, 38% Roussanne, 12% Picpoul Blanc

The Lily Blanc is envisioned as the counterpart to our flagship Estate red Rhone blend, Très Violet. The strengths of these 3 varietals play perfectly together. Grenache Blanc adds mid-palate depth while Roussanne is known for the golden richness and full-bodied palate. Picpoul, French for "lip sting" offers a beautifully clean and refreshing finish, allowing this blend to embody the full gamut of white wine experience.

Tasting Notes
A slight white gold hue and nose full of honeysuckle, lemon zest and spring flowers. Upfront, this wine matches the aromas with nectarines, peaches and ripe cantaloupe. It then excites as the mid palate bounces between creamy and tart, light and full bodied. This all encompassing nature creates a perfect food pairing wine.

Vineyard Notes
The 2023 Lily Blanc comes from just across Peachy Canyon Road at the Glenrose Vineyard, which contains soils with high limestone content similar to our Estate.

Production Notes
For all the lots making this blend, the grapes were hand picked and pressed immediately. The juice was allowed to cold settle for 24 hours then racked to fermentation vessels. The Grenache Blanc was fermented in concrete egg and French Oak Puncheons, 20% new. The Roussanne and Picpoul Blanc were picked the same day, so pressed together and fermented in combination of concrete eggs and French Oak puncheons 25% new. After 8 months of aging, all lots were combined for the final blend.
Food Pairing Notes
The best match would perhaps be an equally complex seafood paella.
